I purchased a 32" SK-3271 that had been refurbished from Buy.com on July 25th, 2008. The unit came promptly, it looked great, had a bevy of inputs for various devices…I was very happy with it. However, once 30 days past the back light went out and I sent it back to the repair center. I was not happy that a part rated for thousands of hours failed that quickly, but manufacturing problems happen and it's not normally a big deal. The item was sent in and received on September 19th, and fully repaired and sent to be shipped on the 24th. The item has not moved and it is now October 30th, without word that it is being shipped or what is happening to the unit. It's been repeatedly escalated to corporate and to the RMA supervisor without any change, and I cannot get to anyone with any power to actually do anything to move the process. This is not an uncommon occurrence, with information on this blog http://briancarper.net/2008/03/15/westinghouse-do-they-suck/ including a good number of others relating to their experience. Included is a post from one of the supposed agents, which explains a good bit. Westinghouse has a lost a customer here, and I'm making sure my story is heard to make sure no one else is rolled up in this mess. I have to say it was very well priced and looked great when I had it, and I would love to have it and use it. However, I don't want to deal with a company anymore that makes it this much of a hassle to get things repaired when they do go wrong.
