Absolutely terrible. I lived in a charming, quiet, comfortable apartment in Palo Alto for a year - and then Vasona Management bought out the previous owners, changed the name to Wellsbury Apartment Homes, and ran the place into the ground.
First thing Vasona did was kill every plant in sight, by uprooting the entire garden courtyard, and they left it all a huge mud pit. Then they immediately started remodeling all vacant apartments. From 8 to 5 every single day was filled with the sounds of power drills, hammering, and contractors shouting at each other. We're talking nausea-inducing amounts of noise. Don't even get me started on the incompetency of the contractors; let's just say they have no regard for construction laws of the area.
This has gone on for 3 months so far. Throughout the whole ordeal there have been promises of new landscaping, a nice cookout patio area, and numerous small 'upgrades.' Communication about these things has been nonexistent, and forget about trying to contact the supposedly "on-site" manager, because they will not answer their phone or emails.
The smart residents moved out as soon as ownership was transferred. Those not so lucky, including myself, are getting tenancy terminations and will have to leave by force.
Avoid properties run by this bunch at all cost.
