I recently went to get gas for a rental car and knowing I only needed a half of a tank to fill up the cars tank before returning it, I paid $20 cash at a Valero station for $3.46 a gallon for regular gas. I didn't get a receipt because I didn't use this for business. I got less than a quarter of a tank for $20.00. I mentioned it to the clerk and he didn't do anything except ask me how big is the tank? It certainly isn't a 24 gallon tank. He said it gave me 6 gallons. A little upset and still not having filled up the tank, I went down the street to a Shell gas station where I proceeded to fill the tank on a credit card knowing I now only needed a little more thabn a quater of a tank and guess what?! It filled it up a for only $14 and change!!!!! The price per gallon was $3.47. The car I drove was a 2008 Nissan Sentra for those who don't know the tank holds about 14-15 gallons. I don't want to begin to accuse Valero of any bad business practices but I'll never go there again.
