I purchased an extended warranty for my car because Consumer Reports listed that this car had known transmission problems and I wanted to be on the safe side. I wish I had just saved my money and put it aside for a "just in case" scenario instead of purchasing the warranty.
Long story short, we needed to use the warranty for a transmission repair. When the claim was denied I contacted the number that was in my booklet that I received from US Direct. I could not get anyone to call me back.
When you buy this warranty you need to understand that they are just a broker. They do not provide customer service for claim related issues. I was not aware that I was actually dealing with three different companies when I purchased this warranty. The broker, the insurance company that holds the warranty and then a company that handles the payment processing.
Also, customer service is terrible. The office must be really small because it takes forever to get someone to answer. The other option is to leave a voicemail, but I did that once and didn't receive a call back at all.
Go through a dealership for a warranty. That way if you have problems, you can actually go and speak with someone face to face.
I would not recommend online warranty companies.
