Trading Places moved my daughter's belongings from LA to Connecticut. I chose them based on their excellent BBB ratings and the small number of complaints. I was not dissappointed. Not only were they the least expensive quote I received, but the professionalism of the compnay was tops. Avi was my customer rep, and he told me what to expect, and kept me informed. The first thing that impressed was that their estimate was based on a spreadsheet inventory of what I had to move - not just a guess. They adhered to the ICC regulations exactly regarding binding estimates, weighing, etc. Pickup was on time. I had packed almost everything in boxes. The few pieces of furniture I had were wrapped in moving blankets and then in plastic. They stored the items for about a week, because my daughter was not ready to receive the shipment in CT. They promised delivery within 7-14 days of when my daughter was ready to receive, but it was actually only 1 day after. Avi called me when the shipment went out, and the driver was in contact with my daughter several days before delivery. Everything arrived intact and undamaged. The only surprise I had was the cost of labor and materials involved with loading. I had packed everything in boxes myself, so I thought there would be no packing charge. However, I was charged the labor and materials involved with wrapping the furniture in blankets and then in plastic; about $150. The contract explicitly stated that packing materials and labor would be an additional cost, but I was differentiating packing from loading. I probably shouldn't have. My advice, in hindsight, would be to ask for an estimate of labor and material charges based on the inventory. I would definitely recommend Trading Places, and will contact them again should I have a need for moving and storage services.
