Just got my Top Styler...
|
I never order stuff online with a credit card, there are a lot of incompetent people who work offices... it makes for bad impressions on a product simply based on a bad experience with a company's awful staff.
I picked mine up on sale at an As Seen On TV store, so I got it at a nice discount. Took it home yesterday, eager to try it out. It took longer to heat up than I thought it would. Getting the looped hair into the shells is easy if you use a wand or styling tool (or a smooth-handled brush in my case) that allows you to wrap the air around it instead of your fingers. Just loop, loop, loop, then slide off and clamp into the shell. I was surprised there were enough shells to do my whole head, I have a lot of long hair, but I wound up with a couple left over.
(it came with 15 shells, 10 heating spots, so as I used the first five I clamped a new one in each spot as I went)
It took me about 10 minutes to get all the shells on, and I was only particularly careful with the front stuff. Getting the curled hair towards the back stuffed into the shells while still looped properly was a bit tricky, and I rushed it, couldn't really be bothered to do it right. I was running behind meeting my boyfriend for dinner, so I didn't actually leave the back ones on long enough (they were still warms when I unclamped them). I let down the curls, finger-loosened them, gave a spritz of hairspray, clipped it back loosely, and went to dinner. My boyfriend complimented me on my supercute curly back-do. I kept checking my hair to see if it was straightening out all night, but it held. I got home, let out the clip, ran my fingers through it... my hair was still very wavy/curly. I was pretty pleased. When I got up this morning, my hair was STILL wavy/curly. Until today I had never seen my hair stay wavy overnight unless I damp-set it with foam rollers and used a hood to dry with lots of product.
All in all, I've just started using it and I'm excited to see what I can do if I take my time and do it properly with a setting product. I'm pretty impressed.
