Nice facilities, but too much Corporate Muscle
|
The Rush - Patton is a clean, vibrantly colored facility that offers 24/7 access to fitness machines and a wide range of fitness classes taught by competent and enthusiastic instructors. The facility includes a heated, salt water pool, steam room, sauna, and private workout space for women.
These were the things that drew me in. I enjoyed my membership for the first year or so, then started re-thinking it. When I inquired about canceling, I was reminded that my contract didn't end until November of 2011. I waited until November and called to cancel. The ensuing run-around was dizzying. For nearly 3 months of directed and redirected from the Patton office to the Corporate Office and back to the Patton Office. Each time I called the Patton Office, I asked to speak with a manager, but no one was ever available. And though I was assured they would, no manager ever called me back.
Finally, in February, someone from the corporate office directed me back to the Patton Avenue facility, saying I should drop by in person. However, my debit card that they had on file and were charging had expired on January 31, 2012 so I assumed they would no longer be charging my account. Today, I discovered they had charged my account in both February and March with an expired debit card! When I called the Patton Office--again, no managers available. When I called the Corporate Office, the gentleman (same from February) insinuated that it was my fault the account hadn't been cancelled because I didn't go by the Fitness Complex and sign a paper. He was smug and unapologetic.
I am utterly dissatisfied with my recent treatment by both the employees and the corporate entity, as it's clear after 5 months of back and forth that this is standard operating procedures.
Beware their "Corporate Muscle" and find a more community-oriented gym to get your workout!
