I had high hopes for the pavilion I purchased from The Backyard Showcase. Customer service was good initially during the purchasing process. However, when the product showed up and it was subpar, that's when communication began to go silent. I have submitted a complaint to the Better Business Bureau and I just received word that the company has not responded to them as well.
At this point, I would advise not doing business with this company.
Below is my complaint to the BBB:
Complaint Details
I purchased a $20,831 pavilion from The Backyard Showcase. The item that I received was substandard. I reached out to the company to discuss and showed them pictures of the item I received. We both agreed that it was subpar. The company offered to reimburse me $2000 in order to recoup the cost I would have to pay someone to fix the pavilion. I declined this reimbursement because the bid I received from my contractor to fix it was more than what they offered to reimburse me (my contractor's bid was: $3,260). The employee that I had worked with at The Backyard Showcase told me he would have the owner contact me because he was only authorized to reimburse $2000. I never received a call from the owner.
On 12/14/20, I received a check from The Backyard Showcase for $2,375.
I emailed the the sales rep the following on 12/14/20:
Hi Mark, I received a check this evening from Backyard Showcase in the amount of $2,375.00. While I appreciate the reimbursement, it does not cover the cost of me fixing the pavilion. Can you please forward this email thread to the owner again as I am requesting additional reimbursement of $885. I have yet to receive a response or additional reimbursement from them.
Buyer beware - they will ship you a subpar product and you will have to pay thousands of dollars to someone locally to fix what you paid very good money for.
