In reading the previews reviews and complaints about Stein Diamonds, I still felt that given their competitive pricing that I would give them an opportunity to earn my business. I let them know that I was wary of paying anything upfront and needed to see the merchandise before purchasing.
Bottomline, we agreed on a price and I was to pick up the item at the store. I took time out of my busy day, traveled through LA traffic to get to their downtown location. I called them prior to let them know I was on my way. I show up and was told the item wasn't in stock, and if I paid upfront, they would courier it to me....what?! Like I would trust to pay them in advance after this! He even had the audacity (or stupidity) to suggest that I call in advance to make sure it was in stock first! Are you kidding me, I called twice that day and 30 min before I came. He pointed to the fact that he runs a reputable business and pointed to the sparse inventory that he had in his small showroom.
I gave them the benefit of the doubt and they proved me wrong. It doesn't matter what their prices are, it could be free, you still aren't getting what you think. I was cheated out of my time and travel expenses. I would not do business with them ever again, I would not recommend them, the only thing I would voluntarily give them is a bad review and plenty of it.
