I would say you would be wasting both your time & money not to call him if you have a water damage or other restoration job.

I called Sparkle based on the 5 star recommendation of fellow yelp users. My small apartment building developed a slab leak that wet the lower part of a living room wall and dampened the carpet inward from such wall about 2 feet. Fortunately, my tenant noticed the wetness and called me right away so I was able to pull back carpet and lay down towels to restrict the seepage from the leak. I then started calling plumbers and restoration companies based on referrals from yelp.
Cenmar, the owner of Sparkle Restoration Services, took my call and I explained the extent of the water damage. He provided me a general estimate over the phone based on the likely number of days that fans/evaporators would be used. He said he needed to see the damage and measure the moisture content in the affected areas before making a final quote.
BTW, I called two other larger restoration companies (one a national chain) and neither would give me a rough estimate over the phone. They both went into long discussions of the danger of black mold and the difficulty of removing all the sources that could cause it. The more I listened, the more I felt they were conditioning me for their large estimate. The national chain company came out, was very professional, but as expected their estimate was approx triple what I ultimately agreed with Cenmar. To be fair, their estimate included many more days of fan/evaporator rentals, which they said they would adjust down. However, I didn't feel comfortable that I would ever see those savings. Once you sign the estimate.....
Bottom line, Cenmar and his company were very professional (he once worked for a Fortune 500 company so he has top level management/marketing/business skills), very customer service focused, and a true small businessman success story. His crew and trucks and equip are all first rate. I may sound like an advertisement for Cenmar, but I just met him last week. I work as a finance/accounting consultant for small and mid size businesses so I'm very in tune with evaluating the effectiveness of small business operations. After what I experienced with Cenmar, I would say you would be wasting both your time and money not to call him if you have a water damage or other restoration job.
