I responded to a classified ad in my local paper; the person I spoke with made the conditions clear and assured me my information would not be sold or and only disclosed to 2 businesses which I could decline (magazine subscription and webstore). They gave me time to google them and the mystery shopper blog said they had no info but that if they ask for money it was probably a way to sell your information to companies. The BBB has no reports or complaints on them but rates them an F (which is bad). The Shopper Select representative did use moderate pressure tactics to incent me to pay the $1.95 registration fee for the "free online training" that it would only be free for first-time callers. The "hooks" are shopper select after the 14 day trial charges your credit card $19.95 a month. They add on surplus supplier webstore for 10 days (additional $1.95 then $39.95 a month is automatically charged to your account unless you cancel within the 10 day trial) and a 21 day trial of National Trip and Saver's City for $3.95. I cut them off at this point said I did not want that so I did not find out how much they would charge after the trial period. They use the $40 in free gas to incent you to try the add ons. I will post again once I have more experience with them.
