This is how this company works. A salesrep gives you a quote based on all the items you tell him. Ours was 1800 and they took at deposit of $250. The quote is based on estimated volume in my case. Some movers use volume AND weight. The real thing is to look out for is the $/cb ft. Then a team of packers/movers come to your house and pack everything and load in to a van and tell you the final volume. You only know this after everything is loaded. Our volume was twice the estimate and it came to $4500 ! If you don't like the number, they will move everything back to your house (and wont unpack) and you lose the deposit. In our case, thank god, we had a corporate relo bonus and i had some play, so i went with it. Upon Delivery at the house (they delivered on time), its a different set of team, a guy came in and he had a some day laborers (illegal immigrants) to move everything to the house. I was told that they will assemble the furniture and unpack as well. I had to plead with him to assemble the furniture but he wouldn't unpack. Clearly, he is a sub contractor and they don't all work together as a team.. Overall, i was disgusted with this company and their customer service. for the money paid, i could have used a far better reputable service or better yet, hired people moved myself !!
