Red Persimmon Nails a full service Nail Salon looks to be clean and a well presented salon. As you look around to see they definitely know how to wow the consumer. Nice furniture, pictures on the wall and clean manicuring tables. However, as you are trying to relax and enjoy the manicure that you asked to receive the person serving you starts explaining you need to have a different service then what you asked for and quite aggressively too. The Manicurist continuously pursuing you to have other services giving you a menu of all the services and makes you uncomfortable. Especially when she tells you, your eyebrows are awful and need fixing; in addition, your nails are not well manicured etc...As this manicure is not quite what you were expecting and it goes from bad to worst. I received the worst manicure, with a boshed up polish job that looked as thou a child did it. The Polish was all over my cuticles, and bubbles were throughout the polish. While there the employees were smoking outside at the front door, while the door is open. I asked to either shut the front door or to turn the little fan on as I am having a hard time breathing to the smell of smoke. Nether was done! In the mean time, I asked for them to fix the polish as they tried several times without success, as they had no idea of what they were doing. I offered my own personal opinion since they continued to not know what they were doing, they refused. Bottom line here is, this salon refused to refund my money for the unsatisfactory service and were rude about doing so. This salon is deceiving, pushy, rude, and allows employees to smoke without care of their customers. In addition, they are working without a License from the State Board of Cosmetology. If you go the website of, California Beauty and Barber of Cosmetology, you will see their license was revoked to doing business 10/23/09. In my 20+ years of experience as a licensed manicurist, educator with several Trophies and awards for my work and competitions it is so disappointing to see what has happened to this industry. I will bet this salon will still be open and doing business without a license, until something worst happens. All I wanted was my money back for a service I did not receive.
