These guys are off the chain!! I lost my job right when I had a large bill to the government to pay. Had to move out of my house into an apartment and try and find another job. I had never been late on my payment, but this time, had to postpone my payment a few days to pay a 3,000.00 bill. 4 days before making my payment, they sent a company call PRG Asset Recovery to pick up the car. When I called Quality Acceptance, they told me that in order to get the car back, I had to pay the two payments, all the fees, and an additional 2,000.00 because the Repo company to them that I had become violent with them. Nothing could be further from the truth! PRG Asset Recovery has been violating the Vehicle Recovery Statue by charging vehicle owners $100.00 to recover personal property from vehicles they recovery for banks. They are also engaged in "Breach of the Peace" tactics when recovering vehicles through use of Physical Force and Assault. This is a clear violation of Texas state law. On January 25th 2013, during the recovery of my vehicle,I was assaulted by an employee of PRG Asset Recovery. I had requested to retrieve my personal property from the vehicle before they took it. The employee refused to allow me to retrieve my property and physically grabbed me, twisting my right arm, bruising my right wrist. They then forcibly took my vehicle, with all my personal items inside. Later when I contacted the company to retrieve the items, they told me that I would have to pay them $100.00 to have my items back. On January 29th at 10:00 am, I went to their facility, along with two SA Police Officers, to retrieve my belongings. They insisted to the Officers and myself that in order to receive my property back, I would have to pay them 100.00. The Officers questioned them for almost 2 hours on where does it say that they have the right to charge the owner for personal property, and only after advising them that theft charges was about to be filed, that they released some of my things. They told the officers that the charge was for Inventory and Processing of my personal property, however they could not produce and inventory sheet, nor have they returned all of my property. they are still items valued at almost 500.00 dollars that belong to me, and they would not allow me to retrieve them from the vehicle. This constitute a "Breach of the Peace." Quality Acceptance uses "Goon squad" companies to recovery their assets, and make up lies to prevent you from recovering your vehicle unless you pay them extra money to get it back. You're out of luck if you want the agreement in writing too. All they will do is argue and be extremely unprofessional with you. And, they will pocket any additional money you give them. So, go with a more professional company and stay away from these guys!!
