As a single mother on a fixed income I went to payless auto to get a RELIABLE family vehicle. I have 4 children so I was looking in the direction of a van or SUV. I was pointed in the direction of a Ford Van and told it was a 2000 model.. They "PRE APPROVE" you on the spot of "inhouse financing" and they run through paperwork in 5 minutes flat... I was rushed out the door and handed an envelope sealed , that I was told it was my paperwork, contracts and such. The vehicle registration and accompanying paper tag were issued for a 96 green van, I purchased a tan van.. On the way OUT OF THERE LOT, within the 1st 3 miles the transmission began to slip and the door ding began and would not turn off, We turned back and they had already closed for the day. This was a Saturday, So 1st thing on Monday I took it back down there and was told for the next 2 weeks or so how they were backlogged but would fit me in, through alot of arguing and fighting I was promised they would do a clean out trade for a different vehicle , that was also strung along for weeks . Until the last day when my paper tag was expiring and I went down to DMV to transfer a tag of mine. This is when I realise that They never put a title through and the vehicle is not registering. They refuse to fix the error and still want to receive payments < I am making payments into an escrow account, but do not want to pay them if they A, wont fix the current vehicle nor allow me to even have it legally tagged b/c they never registered it. Nor will they make the necessary changes to put me in a reliable vehicle that doesn't:
have electrical problems
transmission problems/ slips and clanks
A/c leaks inside the vehicle
Not Titled
Unable to Register
you talk to these people on the phone and they tell you everything you want to hear and when you get there it's a different story . More money or they take your payments and don't post it on your account so when you go back in there they say you are 2 or 3 payments behind
