The company first contacted us claiming they were in the area doing work and wanted to know if there were any projects we were interested in. We were just beginning the inquiry into replacing our roof. It was still fine, but aging, and we did not have any idea as to the cost of replacement. We scheduled an appointment and a "project manager" came out. He was at the house for over 3 hours. We had to sit through a presentation and he was extremely cautious in presenting an estimate. Finally, when he gave us the estimate he said he could give us a 10% discount for the next 20 days but IF we signed today he would give us an additional 15% discount. We asked for a written estimate and he refused. We indicated it was our first estimate and he became very aggressive about us signing today. When I said I would be getting additional estimates he stated his company would probably be more expensive. I told him I had never intended on buying a new roof today, I just wanted to gather cost information. He was belligerant and we had to ask him to leave several times. He finally left and a few minutes later came back and said if we gave him $1000.00 and financed the rest we wouldn't have to have the work done immediately and they would hold the price. We told him no. The refusal to give a written estimate and a reasonable time to make a decision is unfathomable. When we asked why couldn't he offer the 25% off and give us a couple of weeks to decide, he stated because they would be losing money. When questioned why they weren't losing money by making that offer today, he said they were. NO BUSINESS is going to make an offer losing money. Very shady company, very aggressive and rude sales pitch, I would never do business with this company.
