Received a "Flyer" in my mail from Pacific Harbor Dental that offered a $39 Exam, X-rays and Teeth Cleaning (in small words next to it said "As long as no periodontal disease is present). So I booked an appointment for myself and my son for same day/same time zone. (March 2011)
Upon arriving we were asked to sign forms and "Pay upfront" so I wrote a check for us both ($78).
We were taken to separate rooms and both has full X-rays taken then the dentist came in and told me that I had a gold crown that needed to be removed, cleaned under it, and replaced with another of their products, a cavity on another tooth and a periodontal disease that meant I could not even get my teeth cleaned this day, but would have to come back 4 times to have just a "Quadrant" cleaned at a cost of $200 per quadrant! So $800 to get my teeth cleaned!
Plus the other work she told me I needed done! So I got my son, who had also been told he had this "Periodontal Disease" and many cavities and we left, but first I demanded my check back since they were not going to do any teeth cleaning on either on of us, and this is what we had specifically come in for.
We went to another Dentist,only a week later, (March 2011)and for $65 we both had full X-rays, Exams and had a complete teeth cleaning. We were told we did not have any "Periodontal Disease, no Cavities and my Crown was just fine, no problems! Isn't this amazing? How is this possible? We were both given a great teeth cleaning and told "all is well!" So why did Pacific Harbor tell us something completly different??
My feelings of this Dental office is that they are doing FALSE ADVERTISING to get you in, then it is a BIG SCAM to lie to you and make you THINK you have problems so they can charge you you $$$$$$$$$$!!!!
They will find anything, to make you think there is a problem! My x-rays at their office were showing only small food particles around my teeth, NOT a Periodontal Disease! They bring it up on a screen to make you THINK it is something else! They do not deserve ANY STARS! REPORT THEM! It is a SCAM!
