Review 10/5/2011

I did inquiry through the internet that sent out my information to multiple lenders. Ovation Home Loans was the first lender to respond. I explain my financial situation to the senior loan officer. She was very encouraging. Even though, I was informed by local lenders in my area that I would have to wait at least two years to do a refinance. I wanted to verify this information from other resources. She sent me a good faith estimate with very minimal information. I had a family member who is in the banking industry review the good faith estimate, and he advised me, "this is the worst good faith estimate that he has ever seen." The loan officer and I were communicating back and forth via e-mail and telephone. Reading her e-mails that were poorly written with a lot of misspelled words was discouraging by itself. She kept on persisting to me to lock in my rate. I advised her that I didn't understand some of the numbers that were presented to me in the good faith estimate pertaining to the closing costs. I guess she got offended and replied back to me in a e-mail which started off by saying lol lol. After, I told her that I wasn't happy with her professionalism. She changed her demeanor towards me in a positive way. She gave me the financials I was looking for with the total numbers I would be refinancing. Those numbers weren't even close to the original good faith estimate. I ended any further communication with this loan officer. I even tried to reached out to another loan officer with Ovation Home Loans that was recommended on this site via phone message and e-mail with negative results. I am a firm believer that if it sounds and looks too good to be true, then use extreme caution. That is how I would approach this company. I still have all the e-mail correspondences saved as proof and evidence.
