I have never had a worse experience with a bank. Over the last 5 months I have been trying to deal with Ocwen who holds our mortgage. Our income changed and we were trying to find options for modification (like many people right now). I turned in all the paperwork sent to me and then was told I did not qualify. I then applied for a deed in leiu on our home to voluntarily give the property back as there was no way for us to keep it. I was told that the application was being processed and to wait. (It took talking to 6 reps and 2 managers to get this information, or that I could even apply for the deed in leiu). 60+ days later I receive a notice saying I was denied, when I called to discuss why I was told that I had not listed my home on the market for at least 90 days. So now I have until September to either sell the home or bring it current before it is sold at auction (which is less than the 90 days it would need to be listed for the deed in leiu option). So between 5 employees and 2 managers I was never told this was a requirement, when they "reviewed" my account during multiple phone calls never once did anyone tell me this, we could have had the home on the market for the last 5 months while dealing with this company. The WORST customer service I have ever recieved..... I will NEVER do business with them again and will tell anyone I know the same thing. Be careful when working with Ocwen.
