Movings not easy
|
I moved the minimum furniture and boxes and tote bins to NY. I packed. Most of the move went well, but the driver, Victor, couldn't locate the home with GPS. Was notified by dispatcher would arrive Thurs., but came Friday. Driver had wife sign paperwork and no copies of anything were left with us. No bill of lading, no receipts, nothing (but office claimed papers left when load truck). They also charged fuel surcharge of 10% that was NOT Disclosed on estimate or any emails prior to truck arrival. So wife paid the amount plus Fuel, effectively increasing the move cost. I would have sent truck along empty over the surcharge, but wasn't home. Other than this everything moved fine. Beware when checking moving companies to hire those that are up front with all their charges, nothing hidden needing payment when truck is loaded ready to roll. Rich C
