CAN I GIVE IT A HALF STAR? Update: Two nights ago at 8:48 pm I received a phone call from someone at Move On Van Lines. He said that he was putting my stuff on a truck in LA and it would leave first thing in the morning and I would be getting it either "late tomorrow evening or first thing Wednesday morning." 14 hours later (please note it is a 12 hour drive by truck from Los Angeles), I get a phone call that they have arrived and I have to meet them right now or I would be charged $250. Long story, short here - I was irrate and spent the next 4 hours explaining that they were 6 hours early and I should not be charged. After a lot of texting and phone calls, I was finally told that my stuff was going to arrive between 8 and 10 PM and I needed to be there or I would be charge $300. I didn't leave all evening and at 8 pm, I got a phone call that ___insert excuses here____ they couldn't deliver my stuff until 10 am the next day. After talking to them we agreed that they would be to my place between 8 & 9, closer to 8. It is almost 10 and nothing. Not only are they unreliable but the bulk of the company is rude and inconsiderate. The movers said they could care less that I have a job that I could be fired from because they wanted to sleep in and just do their own thing in the morning. Again, in what world are clients treated so poorly. DO NOT USE THEM, FOR YOUR OWN SANITY! First Post: Almost totally dissatisfied with my movers. Upon arrive of my stuff will determine is the star will move up or down. I just sent this letter to the owner of the company - if he actually checks his email. I would recommend someone else if you want to avoid headaches and heartburn. ---------------------------------- My name is ************ and at the end of August I arranged with "Big Jim" to have my stuff moved from Van Nuys California to ************ Utah. Prior to booking the service, Jim personally guaranteed that I would get my stuff in Utah on Saturday 9/11. In fact I originally scheduled it with him for 9/18 and he said that we could have it there on the 9/11 - no worries. He then proceeded to tell me the truck schedule, which made me more confident in that date. I even canceled an appointment to have the 11th open to meet my movers. On the 10th, I had not received a phone call from your company so I tried to contact Jim through email who ignored me. I just wanted a status. But he ignored all my emails. When I called your company directly, they said that because it was Jewish holiday, no one could give me a status until Monday. Monday? I was supposed to get my stuff on Saturday. I again tried to contact Jim, who at that point was my only contact, thinking he could help me out. But he ignored me. Which I have learned is the custom of your company. On Tuesday, your dispatcher (who's name I have forgotten) called me back, but didn't leave a message. I did call the company back and when I spoke with him, I brought up my complaints regarding the lack of communication with those I have spoken with and he apologized. He also went on to promise that I would get my items on Saturday 9/18. He said he would call me in 48 hours to give me a window of delivery and I could expect a call on Thursday or Friday. Thursday came and went and on Friday, I called him to get a status. But again, it was a Jewish holiday so who cares about running a company when one person has to take the day off. On Saturday, due the promise earlier in the week, I had again canceled multiple plans because I thought with a promise from the dispatcher that I would receive my stuff. With a mustard seed of faith, I thought maybe the movers would still arrive with my stuff. About 5 pm on Saturday, I finally gave up, and went on with my day. Today when I called first thing in the morning, 2 people spoke with me, telling me that he would call me when he got in. He hasn't yet. And then when I called back and spoke with Rosie, she said that he can't talk to me because it is pay day so he has to talk to all the employees first. I don't know what sort of company that you are running there, but in my world, the paying customer and client is the higher priority than the employees. I mean, they are ones keeping you a float. But I guess in your world, your company comes first and your clients come second. The other complaint is that when I booked the move with "Big Jim", he explained the exact process to me. He said that the movers would arrive, load my stuff in the truck and then put a wall to separate my stuff from others. He said that once it got placed on the truck that it doesn't come off until it reaches my home. Well, when the movers (who by the way were the only redeeming quality of your entire company) showed up in a small cube truck, I realized that I was not told the correct information. My stuff would be moved, which worries me now that my stuff is going to arrive damage - due to my little faith your company now.
