The following is our experience with Move On Van Lines. Don't let this happen to you!!!!
- After the 5 hours it takes the movers to load our belongings into the moving truck, we are notified that the actual moving cost would be triple the original quote which was based upon a detailed list of our belongings. ($900 to $2,700)
- Our contact (Jim) at Move On Van Lines promises a monetary form of compensation due to their gross miscalculations. From this point on our calls are not returned.
- Five days later than the estimated delivery time frame given to us, we are notified that a 53 foot semi, that is now holding our belongings, will not be able to turn into our apartment complex.
- To avoid a $350 fee, we spend hours locating a suitable place to have the movers unload the semi into a U-Haul that we rent.
- The 63 year old driver (who is incapable of any lifting due to prior injury) arrives without anyone to unload our belongings. We are forced to do all the unloading ourselves. We unload the semi truck, load our rented U-Haul, and then unload the U-Haul into our apartment without the assistance of Move On Van Lines.
- We note that the cubic space markings on this semi truck show our belongings taking up 200 cu ft less than the truck that was loaded on our moving day. ( A $834 difference )
- Move On Van Lines is still avoiding our calls.
