I had been going to this shop for years before these guys took over from old Charlie. We used to call this place "Uncle Charlie's" because the original old man owner treated everyone like they were his kids. Used to be a wonderful reasonable place to take your car. Then he retired and these crooks took over. they own over 5 of these in the Inland Empire.
I took my truck in because I noticed a small leak at my differential. I did have a dealership warranty in force but being a Saturday I couldn't get a dealer to take it and I couldn't just keep driving it like that so took it here. They said it was a pinion seal leak, so I had them fix it. Unfortunately they didn't fix it "right" because 5 days later the pinion nut came loose and the pinion and everything fell apart in the housing. Since I had it under a dealers warranty "Joseph" offered to do the work and save me my $100 deductible. Fair enough so I ok'd the work. Unfortunately the warranty folks wanted it inspected and their inspectors took their sweet time coming out to inspect, and it was up on their rack for 12 days. When inspector finally came he noted that they did the repair wrong to dealer specs not replacing the pinion nut with a new one. His written report explained that this nut has a springy flange on it that wears out with age so they require replacing it with a new nut. SO...the warranty folks denied the claim. Joseph then made a deal with me that he'd pay the labor and rental car if I paid for a new/used rear axle from a yard. I agreed even tho it really WAS supposed to be on them and their warranty since it fell apart only 5 days after the initial repair, but I needed the truck fixed asap so agreed to the "deal". They replaced the axle and put it all back together, I picked it up, drove for a few days, noticed another small leak at the wheel so took it back, they fixed THAT and everything great. Then 2-3 months go by and I get a call from the rental car company saying this shop now refuses to pay the rental car as was invoiced and promised, so I ended up paying for it. Later I took this shop to court and won! If Joseph was going to totally refuse to honor his own invoice/contract in writing then I was going to get back all the money I paid since it was still on their warranty no matter what. Joseph didn't even show up to court but sent a roving mechanic to testify who really didn't know the particulars of the case. I now have a judgement in my favor but also of course this shop is ignoring the court order and my certified letter to them asking for the money they owe me.
