I've been swindled by Marilyn Scheer Law Group like everyone else. I gave her $3000 in early 2010 and was told time after time to resubmit paperwork after deadlines repeatedly passed. I finally decided to stop playing the game and, after that last denial from my lender (due to paperwork not being submitted on time by the lawyers), I requested a full refund. This was in the beginning of 2011. After calling and calling and getting no response, I filed a complaint with the Cal State Bar. I eventually received a notice that my case is on hold because she is engaged in civil and criminal law suits. I also put in a request for my money back through the Client Security Fund. They will not help me at this time either, stating that Marilyn Scheer had not been disciplined, which is one of the most important factors they consider for the refund. I've been fighting this for over a year and a half now. I've read the horror stories about her terrible temper and screaming matches with her clients. In my case, I never even spoke with her. I left numerous messages and was told every time, "we'll have her call you back". Then, nothing...she won't even respond to my emails. I check online periodically and am surprised to see that this group is still in business. I'm not going to walk away from my money so easily.
