Over the past 12 years or so, I have purchased dozens of lighting fixtures marketed by Lights of America, Inc. I have had several of them fail due to age, water, lightning, etc.
Recently, I contacted Lights of America, Inc., to inquire as to the availablity of repair parts for their fixtures. They sent me an email stating that they do not offer repair parts for their fixtures and that I would need to purchase an entirely new unit. They did not offer any customer support at all in their email.
I am a degreed electronic technician and have requested that Lights of America, Inc. support their products with replacement parts availability for the repair of their fixtures when necessary.
They refuse to sell any parts for their fixtures and have sent me communications stating this. Most of their fixtures are not made here in the United States, but, it would be nice to be able to repair what they have already sold me, rather than have to purchase an entirely new replacement fixture every time something like a resistor or diode fails in their units.
Their lamps utilize "Fluorex" technology, which tends to be brighter than many of their competitors, but, the lamp technology is no good if you cannot get repair parts for the fixture when you need them.
I would be very cautious when considering purchasing this brand of lighting, as they have become very dysfunctional with regards to repair part availability and sales. If you can't fix the item when it breaks, then, why buy one in the first place?
