I was leery of ordering from this company because of the previous review. That poster received a defective TV, returned it. Received the wrong replacement and returned it. Then nothing. No TV and no money refunded. I don't know if it was ever resolved.
I decided to take a chance and I ordered a 7" LCD ATSC portable TV on Jan. 14, 2008. On LCD Digital's web site you can only pay using Paypal. I also used my credit card through PayPal in the hopes that it would provide additional protection. I printed out my Paypal receipt upon completion of the transaction showing that I had paid. However there was no acknowledgment of my actual order from LCD Digital. So the next day I emailed LCD Digital and requested a order confirmation from them. Two days later on Jan. 17th I received a email from them informing me that they had no order for me and asked me for a PayPal transaction number, which I gave them. Then on Jan. 21st I received another email telling me that my package was scheduled to ship the next day. I then went to USP.com and did the estimated arrival time based on shipment on Jan. 22. The estimated date of arrival was Jan. 28th. I did receive another email after shipment with a tracking number, but it wasn't a valid one. So all I could do is wait and hope for the best. I was nervous because of the other review. I am happy to say that the TV arrived on the 28th in good condition and with everything included that was supposed to be included.
My only complaint with this company is with their customer service and communication. When you call their phone number you get voice mail telling you to leave a message and they will get back to you. They only called me back the first time, when I wanted to ask some questions PRIOR to ordering. The emails I sent took at least two days to get a response, if I got any response at all. They were good however about notifying me that the package had shipped. Maybe by now they knew I was nervous. It is just too bad the tracking number wasn't valid.
It would have been nice to have received a email order confirmation from LCD Digital, or at least on the screen on their web site telling you your order had been successful. Maybe there was a glitch in their system. They seemed to have initially lost my order. But if it wasn't a glitch, then they need to improve their order entry software to send you a confirmation upon placing an order.
So although getting low marks for communication and customer service, I did get the TV and everything was as represented. But I did have some nervous moments. And if I hadn't asked for some kind of confirmation the very next day, who knows how long it would have been before they "found" my order. I might have been anxiously waiting for a long time for delivery before contacting them about it.
