I started the loan modification process with my lender, Bank of America, in May of 2009. This was a month and a half prior to my daughter undergoing a dual organ transplant. This was after 3 years of debilitating stress due to her medical issues. A major loss in income due to the economy and my ability to make a living selling homes in what would most likely be considered the worst housing crisis in history. Coupled with the fact that my husband, a teacher was faced with state wide cut backs. I must have been out of my mind to think that I could take on this challenge of modifying my loan without help and guidance. Sure enough after what was the most difficult year of my life, and having my loan modification package tossed around from one department to another in the Bank of America’s quagmire. At that point I felt like all hope was gone and that we would be forced to lose our family home. Fortunately, my sister-law referred us to JurisConsult Law Group. I just let them take over and what a relief. I was considered self-employed as a Realtor therefore the professionals at JurisConsult were precise in what the bank would need from me and they guided me to supply the proper documentation required so the underwriters could fully understand my financial situation. Even with my 35 years of experience in the real estate business I was paralyzed by the process and the massive amount of hoops we had to jump through. My financial situation was very extensive. I am so thankful that I was smart enough to employ professionals to help and guide me through this modification process. I am also happy to say that we have been granted a modification with terms that will allow us to keep our home and even allow us to retain our rental property. I will forever be thankful for the compassion and guidance I received from my JurisConsult agent and I highly recommend their company.
