Scam or Not?

My parents had done a loan modification through this company back in January 2010. They sent them everything they requested and were charged $1750.00 to get their mortgage loan modified. This company told my parents that their property taxes were included in the modification. So, my mom thought that the taxes were being paid. Well, recently, they received a letter from their mortgage company stating the taxes were not paid and they have until Aug 4th to come up with almost $18,000.00. Now, when you try to contact American Residential Law Group they dont answer!!! Also, the Ohio Attorney Generals Office filed a lawsuit against this company back in August 2011 for violations of The Consumer Sales Practices and Debt Adjusters Act. They are seeking consumer restitution, injunction relieve and civil penalties!!!! My advice to anyone who needs to get a mortgage loan modified FIND SOMEONE ELSE!!!!
