Buyers Beware
|
Jim the owner was hired by our realtor to come and do an home inspection on the house we were trying to buy. He said everything was good to go. After closing on the house and moving in the first night there we noticed a puddle of water in the bathroom. After further investigating it we found a puddle of water in the basement where it was leaking. Two weeks later we go to turn on the furnace and found out that the furnace is not heating the upstairs of the house and one bedroom downstairs. I hired a company out to find out what was going on only to find out that it is going to cost us around $3300.00 to fix this problem. I contacted our attorney and our realtor to let them know what had happened. They both told me our home inspector should of caught both these problems and since we closed we couldn't go after the previous owner. I contacted the owner of our home inspector and all he could say was that he was sorry. He remembered the house and the inspection. I have pictures of the leak and the estimate from the heating company on what its going to cost to get it fixed. He was not willing to refund us any money. Not worth the money we paid him.
