This company is dishonest and uses false and misleading advertising.
I called to have an area of about 500 sq feet cleaned. Their advertising said up to 450 sq feet for $89.
Their worker did a "spot" check, showing me it needed "special dip cleaning" treatment. (Its very easy to do this using plain water, and then adding the cleaning solution later. this is a really deceptive tactic.)
I asked him how much, and he spent several minutes making calculations on a pad.
He said he was giving me the "senior cistzens" discount, that the carpets were very dirty, etc etc. (I just had these carpets cleaned in mid July.)
He would not give me a total amount. He would stop his work every few minutes and tell me something else was wrong with the carpet.
The stories about the cleaning included that there was "mold on my stairs" - and needed special treatment to kill it. this is not true. There was no mold on my stairs. I have asthma and would not be able to stay in a house with mold. The technician did nothing more than spray a solution on a small corner of the top stairs.
The technician wanted to take my 5x7 area rug back to his factory to clean. He said it was an 8x10 carpet.
When I asked how how much? He said about $200, and that it was a really good carpet. (It is not. I paid less than $100 for it). He ran the cleaning machine over it in less than 10 minutes, telling me it was a special cleaning process, exactly like the factory would do.
I run my business from my home. I had many phone calls during the time the worker was supposed to be doing his job. Instead of simply cleaning the carpet, he kept interrupting me while I was on the phone, to add yet another layer of cost onto the job.
The entire cleaning of my carpets took less than 1.5 hours. The charge on my credit card was $496.00
The technician never left me a copy of my invoice or receipt. He claims he left it on my table under a book.
Why didn't he hand it to me?
I have never had a carpet cleaning company handle their job in such a manner.
The advertsiing is false. They said the carpets would be dry in a short period of time. We had to leave the house that evening because the carpets were so soaking wet. We used over 2 dozen thick bath towels to absorb the moisture.
This company is unscrupulous in its business dealings. It uses false and misleading advertising.
I used Ocean Chem Dry in the past for the same premises. They charged me less than $195 to clean the same area(400 sq feet), plus area rug and 2 sofas.
And they moved the smaller pieces of furniture and did a thorough and professional job.
This company deserves the lowest rating from the BBB.
They lie in their advertising. Their website is not even in their company name. They go by 2 names:
"the carpet care" and "clean and out".
Based on 2 other reputable company's quotes, the cost to clean my carpets, including stain removal and thorough drying should not have been more than $150.
If you value your carpets and your hard earned money, do not use this company.
