I narrowly escaped a disaster with this company. I set up an appt on 4/14/08 for 4/15/08 between 11-1pm. i gave them all the information they needed which included my home phone number and cell phone number.
About 10:30am on 4/15/08 i had to take my dog outside, and grab something for him at a corner 7/11 just no more than 5 minutes at most. I called and received voice mail. I left a message with very EXPLICIT instructions to reach me either on HOME or CELL PHONE, and EXACTLY WHERE I WAS,AND THAT I WILL BE BACK.
I ALSO ASKED SINCE IT WAS CLOSE TO 11AM APPROXIMATELY HOW CLOSE THEY WERE TO COMING TO MY HOME. I get back, and there is not message on my cell phone. i notice close to 11:30am that someone called. This number is 323-906-1561. I called it out of curiosity, it was The Carpet Care Company.Keep in mind that I am in the beginnings of my two hour frame I am given. I received two stories with 5 minutes of conversation.
First is that they were out to my home, and no one was there. Yeah right. I would have seen the truck quite easily. The second was a song and dance about that they only had my home number, and he did not have my cell. Another lie. Third one is that oh yes, he did receive my voice mail message, and that is why he was calling me back. At this point, he said I have to reschedule for 1-3 pm. I said that is unacceptable since they chose not to follow directions.
I ask why did they not call my cell? He gave me a muffled poor excuse. I ask for supervisor and was stated he would be back in a hour. The gentleman would not budge or give me a better way to get some resolve. I hung up, and tried to locate company online.(Good luck) I then call back to get corporate headquarters. He quickly said Huntington Beach, CA. No such place.
I then looked up BBB,and the rest is history. If they are going to lie even before they perform a service, then perhaps it is not a wise idea to use their services.
