I purchased a used Audi A4 from Honda of Santa Monica in early April 2011. The dealership forgot to smog check the vehicle before I left. The dealership called me when it finally discovered its mistake and asked me to come back so that my car could be smog checked. Initially they did not offer anything to compensate me for the trouble of driving to Santa Monica from my residence in Miracle Mile, but they finally offered to fill up my gas tank for me. They also promised that the process would take no more than 15 minutes. The smog test took an hour! This was primarily because the person who took my car to have it filled with gas could not figure out how to restart it! Someone else at the dealership had to drive me to the gas station so that I could get my car back! Due to their delay in returning my car to me, I was very late to an appointment and ended up sitting in rush hour traffic. Fast forward to today (late May). I was pulled over by LAPD because my tags are expired. I explained that I had purchased the car from Honda of Santa Monica and that they are in charge of registering my vehicle. They checked their computer and said that the DMV has no record of my registration. I was then given a ticket!!! I will now have to waste more of my time contacting the dealership to have them fix the problem and will have to take time off work to go to the courthouse to rectify this situation once my registration finally goes through! I am uncertain how this dealership can make up for the enormous hassle they have caused me, but they need to do something. I will never purchase a car from this dealership again! This was the worst experience I have ever had buying a car!
