I was going to refinance my home with Lending Tree. The agent appeared to be very informative, and all went smooth. However, I changed my mind, and left him a voice mail message, the next business day, stating such, and followed it up with an email. I also stated to not debit my account. One week later, he had my account debited anyway. This left a very bad taste in my mouth, and I'm glad I didn't do business with them. The agent told me he put a request in to not have my account debited. This is unacceptable because he had plenty of time to stop the process, plus I had not signed any documents yet. I guess he wanted to get credit for closing another deal. Not a good way to do business, needless to say poor quality assurance and customer service. Will never consider them again.

Dear Janice F.: We appreciate your time in submitting a review regarding your recent loan experience with our company. Each borrower’s financial goals and objectives differs and is unique. An analysis of a borrower’s credit profile, fico scores, property, assets, income and other important factors are required to determine the best loan program(s) available, and which best accomplishes a borrower’s goals and objectives. Our dedicated mortgage bankers review each eligible loan program in detail with the borrower, to assist with a borrower’s final decision. If a borrower elects to proceed with their loan request, they are advised an appraisal inspection of their home is needed to determine both value and property condition of their home, and the borrower would be required to cover the cost for the appraisal services conducted. We will ask for the borrower to provide their credit card number to process the appraisal fee to proceed with their loan request. A borrower may cancel their loan request within 72 hours of submitting their loan application and the appraisal fee will not be charged to their credit card. Staff recognition is based on exceptional quality service and performance; not collecting appraisal fees. We sincerely apologize to learn the appraisal fee processed to your credit card account.
