I have filed a complaint with the BBB for what I consider to be very misleading and fraudulent warranty practices by this company. I purchased a HerStyler product for my daughter for Christmas via Amazon.com. It broke less than two months later. When contacting the seller, we were informed that the 1 year manufacturer warranty could be obtained through HerStyler. We were given a number to call. HerStyler called me back claiming that nobody was authorized to sell their products through Amazon, and therefore, would not authorize their warranty. The selling company called us back, when we notified them of this claim, and was completely surprised. The owner of the online business actually called his HerStyler sales rep and was told that he was indeed allowed to sell through Amazon and was told that customer service would never tell a customer what I had claimed. Confused he decided to call the # back posing as a customer. He told the person the same thing that I had, and was told the same thing that I was...that this selling company was operating illegally. The seller did the write thing and replaced my faulty device, as he wanted to provide quality customer service. HerStyler replied to my BBB complaint again claiming that the only authorized on-line seller of their product is their own website. They claim their warranty is not valid if purchased elsewhere. I have experienced no financial claim (as the selling company made good)...but I felt obligated to write this review so that customers can be warned of this shady company.
