Bad Investment Decision

Several years ago I was convinced by advertising to convert $20,000.00 of my 401k to precious metals with Goldline. After every thing was put into action and my 401k shares were already sold I was informed by my Goldline Rep. that due to some kind of front loading that I would basicly be charged 30% ( i believe this was the figure) for this transaction.. I didnt understand any of this but the transaction had gone too far forward to back out. I somehow thought that would be made up in the value increase. I am now retired and my 20 thou. investment ( according to my goldline statement) is worth something over $11,000.00.A hedge against inflation shouldnt cost almost 50% of you original investment!!
