Glendale Infiniti did everything possible to deceive and defraud us as customers.
When we decided to lease instead of purchase, our experience with the dealership personnel (sales person, finance person and manager) was a nightmare. In our opinion they intentionally defrauded us on a lease agreement (this was only realized after the fact when it was too late):
A) The agreed upon price (car) was not on the lease agreement, only an inflated price that was not understood. When we questioned the finance person he stated: “because you are leasing your required to have certain warranties that are embedded within the price and that's why its slightly higher than the agreed upon price”.
B) A maintenance warranty was added into the agreement without customer approval. When this warranty was questioned on the agreement, we were told that it was required in order to receive the "special lease interest rate from Infiniti" and that we “had no choice” unless we went with a different financing company.
C) At the end of the paper work process, the finance person rushed the lease agreement into the envelope without reviewing it with us. We had to demand him to review it and explain what and why (the terms, numbers, payment, warranty etc.). His explanations turned out to be outright lies.
The following day we requested the manager or person in charge of the dealership. We disputed the lease agreement, its validity and the tactics/explanation used by the finance personnel to the manager. We demanded that the agreement be voided and the deal cancelled. The manager refused to cancel the deal, he only offered a new lease or purchase agreement, the previously agreed upon selling price (the manager stated the price before we did) and that we were not required to purchase additional warranties/options if we leased.
In addition, he refused to renegotiate a new price on a new agreement. We needed to void the current lease and the only option provided to us by the manager was a new agreement. We ended up a new purchase agreement (special rate of 0% 36 months from Infiniti on approved credit). Interesting how the sales personnel and finance personnel never acknowledged the special rate the previous day when they ran the credit score. Even when we asked them for the best available purchase rate they quoted 5.9% or 6.9% as the best available on approved credit. (KICKBACK)
We should have walked away and we should have done many things differently that were not done on our part. However, the tactics, deception, and outright lies by the finance personnel were intentional and fraudulent.
