I took my computer in for repairs in December 2010, I was told I had to buy restore disc and they give me a phone number to call.I called that number and then I was told to call 800-846-2301 and because my computer is 4 yrs old they said they don't have restore disc for sale. The salesman on the phone tells me that for 129.99 they can fix my computer in 30-40 minutes and I would still have the rest of my 90 minutes to use within a yr. I wanted to get my computer fixed.Four hrs later my computer still wasn't/isn't fixed, and the end result was going to be the same, they want to restore it to factory settings.I thought about this the next day and got mad about it, because they wanted to do what they said they couldn't sell me to begin with,a factory restore.I called them up and told them I would like a refund of my money, they told me that they don't do refunds, that there wasn't a money back guaranteed, and the techs "tried" to fix my computer.I told them I didn't know I was paying this kind of money for someone to "try" and fix my computer. So, I wrote to Gateway Corp. In Ca. and told them what happened, the told me that they couldn't help me,couldn't refund my money, that they company ANSWERSBY was a contracted company, and they didn't have anything to do with them.Well, it's a funny thing to me,that the charge on my card was Gateway/Acers/Emachines, and also on my caller ID on my telephone.Answer that one Gateway.
