Writing this review after I am frustrated with their support and lousy business pattern. NEVER BUY GATEWAY PRODUCTS.
Purchased a laptop computer from Gateway Online store 7 months ago, so the computer is under warranty still.
The computer showed dead pixel on the screen in the first 3~4 weeks. Now the laptop does not power up and totally dead.
They are hard to reach - no email address or tel number is given - not until I (the customer) provided with all of my details. I have contacted them 4 times and haggled with their automated voice recognition machine, then finally got a service request number - only then I got through to their reps who are located India and who answered my call with poor English and poor manners. Their chat does not work either as claimed - withing normal hours as stated.
Now I have to pay $50 for shipping the computer to them - they would not pay for the shipping. There is no way to find or reach their customer relations department.
I have replied to their emails but bounced back as invalid address. Searching the internet, I found suggestion to email their CEO Ed Coleman, but no email address. I have composed email and send it to him (with my guessing of possible email address: ed.coleman@emachines.com, ecoleman@emachines.com, ed@emachines.com, coleman@emachines.com); but all bounced back after some delay.
Reading these reviews, I feel that I do not know if I will ever get the computer working again ever. NEVER BUY GATEWAY PRODUCTS.
