I service many desktops and laptops. I have been certified by Dell and HP and have dealt with their tech support many times.
Dell have bad Capacitors on their GX260, GX270 and GX280 desktops. These capacitors where overfilled and therefore caused the Systemboards to stop working. As it takes time for this to happen Dell understood that they where at fault and replaced ALL systemboards(they where out of warranty but Dell understood it was their fault) that where called in as bad Capacitors.
I recently Had a E-machine(made by gateway) come into my shop for a clean install(client wanted a wipe and OS install) I also blew the dust out of the case. Being a diligent repair tech, I looked over the components of the system and found the 6 capacitors next to the CPU where bad 5 where bulging and one was leaking. I called e-machine for a replacement I could not understand the accent of the tech support person so they gave me a number to a English speaking person. I explained to them what happened and they just said it was out of warranty. no replacement even though you can do a Google search and see their are numerous systemboards and powersupplies that are faulty by them. They seem to not care and are using inferior parts in building their machines. I do not recommend anyone buy their machines with a business practice such as theirs
