GE Money is a scam. I paid all my bills 1 month in advance to avoid 1) late fees and 2) the ridiculously high interest rate. In reviewing my statements I noticed large sums of late fees of $39.99 that were incurred for "late payments". How can I have late payments when I set up my payments to be 1 month ahead? I called customer service and after being on hold for a minimum of 30 minutes and spoke to Roxanne and explained the situation to her. I asked if I was being punished for paying early and she replied "sort of". Nothing was resolved out of that. I asked to speak to a manager and she transferred me to Noni (sp?) that was another 15 minute hold and she said the same thing, although gave a "courtesy refund" of ONE late fee which should have been a FULL refund for ALL late fees. How come consumers are punished for trying to pay bills on time or early? Now, I can see why consumers pay late, because it doesn't matter if you're early you are penalized just the same.
