Absolutely HATE the experience that I have had with Freeway Insurance. Over the phone I was quoted the amount of $78 a month with no mention of a down payment at all. I told the girl that I talked to that my daughter had 1 accident that had been paid out on without any investigation on their part. She assured me that the $78 was the correct amount. When we got to the office, the receptionist took my daughters registration and asked us to sign in. They seemed very nice up until that point and we were called back to the managers desk to start the policy. When he asked for her registration we could not find it. We looked all around the office but it was no place to be found. I looked all through my car and ended calling home so my roommate could get the vin# off my daughters car. Anyway we ended up with the registration at the end of the visit (lots of warning bells going off in my head by then). While we were sitting at the desk and he was going over the policy with my daughter I was talking to another agent that came over to offer coffee, water etc and was thinking that the customer service was really good here and was happy with it until my daughter turned to me and asked me for the down payment (WHAT ?!?!!!). I paid the down payment that they said was $523 but they actually charged me $558 according to my credit union. The full coverage that was quoted on the phone at $78 a month was now $103 a month and just liability and uninsured motorist. The next issue that left a bad taste in my mouth was that the down payment that was supposed to have had the first payment included in it was paid on 11/3/12, but the next payment was due on 11/24/12 that is only 3 weeks before they wanted more money from us. The straw that broke the camel's back with this company was when I got a notice in the mail today stating that the number of years my daughter had been driving was incorrect on the policy and that they would be adjusting the premium accordingly. Like her previous accident we told them that she had only been driving for 11 months when Freeway input her information into the computer they stated that she had been driving for 3 to 5 years. So when I call the insurance that freeway brokered me to they left me on the phone for 22 minutes to come back on the line and refuse to discuss the policy with me because my daughter is the only one insured on it. I wonder what they will say when I stop the automatic withdrawal from my account paying them because my daughter's name is not on the account. I would cancel this policy, but I really hate the idea that I had to pay a $395 broker fee to be treated so ignorantly. Definitely going to report this company to the Better Business Bureau to take a couple of notches out on the good business rating.
