Rented a Dodge in Los Angeles, and the remote control to open the door stopped working at 10:30pm, so I called the "Emergency Roadside Assistance" phone number on the key tag. The phone rang for 10 minutes before I started getting desperate and started walking since everything I had was locked inside the car.
After another 10 minutes (20 minutes total), I hung up and tried calling again. The phone rang again for another 20+ minutes. So these 2 combined phone calls, the phone at their "Emergency Roadside Assistance" rang for 40 minutes without anyone answering. At least if someone answered and put me on hold, and told me how long the wait was, I would feel better, but I didn't even get an answer!
Then I called a locksmith since I gave up on Fox's "Emergency Roadside Assistance". They said it would be 30-60 minutes to get someone out there...keep in mind at this point, it's almost 11:30pm and I had an early meeting the next morning. Finally I call Fox's "Emergency Roadside Assistance" one more time, at which point the customer service representative was extremely rude, blaming me for the problems.
To top it all off, when I returned the car, I'd signed up to have the tank filled upon return, but the guy said I hadn't signed up for it, and charged me $5/gallon. I argued for awhile, but when I realized it was making me late for my flight, I just dropped it.
I will NEVER rent from the sneaky, wily Fox again!
