mixed review

My experience was mixed. I purchased a remanufactured Life Fitness™ Commercial CT9500HRR elliptical trainer. The machine came three months after I ordered it; when I wrote on several occasions to ask when it was coming, I was not ignored (can’t recall the explanations). It arrived in good condition, though without any manual. It squeaked a little, but I was able to exercise the warranty with great ease. It has performed beautifully. The salesman/service rep. (Jason Woron) was responsive and respectful, though perhaps not always transparent (see below). When I was able to get a real person by calling the help line (x399)—which no longer seems to be possible—he/she was helpful and courteous. My chief complaint is that I was sold the Deluxe Upgrade Package warranty for $200 with the understanding that it covered the console (perhaps my misunderstanding, but it was not clearly explained—whether deliberately or not, you decide). After many requests for the terms of that warranty in writing, it turns out that the DUP doesn’t cover the console but only telephone tech support for the codes that appear on the console. I asked for a refund and with much pestering was able to learn that the refund was approved! But after a year of being put off (by manager Michelle Piovan) and offered an X Factor gym instead of a refund, I’m going to small claims court. I have about 50 pages of email documentation that should make this an open and shut case. It became a matter of principle once I was strung along for a whole year.
