It took FOREVER, but we got my loan modification! I honestly don't know if Certified Financial did better than I would have on my own. But, I just didn't have the time to make calls, fax, check in and stay on top of it all. My husband works long hours and I stay home with two kids. But, they are not a scam! I was worried about that the whole time. We started in April and we are signing papers in October. It was on the back of my mind all day every day.
Our interest was 6.75% and now it will be 2% for 5 years! Year six it goes up to 3%. Year 7 it goes to 4%. Year 8 it goes to 5%. Year 9 it goes to 5.05% and there it stays until to the end of our 30 year loan! PLUS we got $270,000 deferred for 30 years. That means we don't pay interest on that money for 30 years!
We are SO happy to be able to stay in our home. As for CFPG, I had a hard time with the first agent we had. She was not available and didn't return calls. I made some noise and got a new agent. He was MUCH better. Once in a while, it took longer than I would have liked for him to get back to me, but for the most part, he answered my email or calls within two days.
I wish anyone going through this nerve wracking process all the luck! Hang in there!
