Express Debt Settlement collected over 17,000 dollars from a client of mine who recently came to me for help. According to my client, Express Debt Settlement only settled 1 of her accounts for more than the original balance and only after she had been sued and had her wages garnished.
She requested a refund and received a threatening email in return from Ari Dinov - President of Express Debt Settlement, and he explained that if she contacted them again about a refund request he would have his attorney sue her.
I attempted to contact Mr. Dinov in an effort to find a mutually agreeable resolution and I was told he would not discuss the matter with me.
Since he won't discuss the matter with me and he is threatening to sue my client if she asks about it again, it appears that Express Debt Settlement, along with Ari Dinov, find it to be a perfectly acceptable business practice to collect 17,000 dollars upfront, settle none of the debt for less than the original balance, and then threaten to sue their client for having the nerve to request a refund.
Until Express Debt Settlement and Ari Dinov can provide an accounting of why they feel they earned the 17,000 dollars they took from my client, I would highly recommend you look for alternative solutions. Express Debt Settlement appears to create financial problems for their clients, not solve them.
My client has had to seek Bankruptcy protection now that she has since been served with multiple additional lawsuits, thanks to Express Debt Settlement who instructed her to ignore all of her creditors for 2 years so they could collect all of their fees first. Sure would have been nice to have 17,000 dollars to settle with those creditors.
Next I will be passing along this information to the Attorney General in Florida as well as Illinois, where my client is located.
