Empire Today gave me a written estimate for carpet install. When I told them I said I had received a better offer from Lowes and showed them the carpet that I had gotten a verbal quote on, Empire said they would do a price match if I got the offer in writing. I paid $38 to Lowes to get a written estimate, submitted it to Empire and it was rejected because it was too low! Their sales rep left me a voicmeail and those were his words. Apparently, they'll do a price match guarantee but only if the price isn't too low. If you can't trust a company to honor their word, then why would you trust their employees to come into your home?
