Review 6/29/2010

After reading another review and seeing that the company was not BBB accredited (which they advertise) I decided to cancel my need for their services. To my surprise the response I received confirmed my thoughts that this company may be a scam and was very unprofessional! The email that I received from Michael "Smitty" Smith said (word from word), "Turn the vehicle back in if you cannot afford it, get a 2nd job if the job that your is not cutting it or get a new career and catch up your payments with your finance company. Don’t blame us for providing a valuable, needed service. If you don’t do anything your going to lose the car. Stop overextending yourself."
To begin I called the number that was provided and received no answer so I left a voicemail. 2 days later I called back and spoke to a gentleman who said that he could provide services to me for a fee of $400. A little while longer I received another phone call from "Smitty" saying that they could help me for a fee of $295. I asked him to provide me with the information that I needed to complete and I would get it back to them. 5 minutes later the first gentleman called me back and again told me that I was approved for assistance and the fee was again $400. I advised him of the conversation that I had with Smitty and he seemed confused.... This was a flag but yet a small flag!
Next after sending the requested information which they wanted overnighted and provided me with a UPS number to send the papers to them along with a check Smitty told me that an analyst would be contacting me in 24 hours. I never received a call from anyone until I called and emailed Smitty multiple times and asked him what I should do since I hadn't received a call and he was clueless and asked me for my social security number and date of birth. I still not receive a call until 3 days later I sent an email informing Smitty that I was cancelling the check that I sent and that I decided to use that money to make a payment on my car instead. After which I received multiple phone calls from Smitty and Marc (his manager). *another red flag for me!
I spoke to Marc and he was very rude and pushy and came off as fussing at me. My natural instinct was to come back to him and make him realize that although I was in need of their service I am a consumer and after not having any follow up. I let him know that the funds were no longer in my account and had been used towards my car payment but that I would have the available funds back in my account early in the week. He then apologized as "coming off pushy" as he put it and told me to send another check. This time they came me a FedEx account number to send it with. I choose not to send the check being that I still have not heard from anyone which the manager lied and told me Brooke (the analyst) was going to call me.
After 4 days of still not been contacted my the Analyst I decided to do a little research about the company and I was not satisfied with the results I received so I notified Smitty that the first check that I sent still remains that I have cancelled it with the bank and that I will not be sending them a check because already with the lack of promises I feel that the company may be a scam!
From there is response was extremely rude and unprofessional!
