By far the worst customer service, quality and return policy I've experienced in a furniture company or any online goods shop. I recently purchased a small kitchen table. While putting the table together I realized a huge gash under the table and bad construction/design, making the table very wobbly. I ignored the gash since it was under the table, and tried to stabilize it by placing something under one of the legs. Nothing worked, and I needed to return the table. I informed the company within the return time frame that I needed to return the table. The refund policy online was clear - full refunds would be given for defective items. Ecodesignz told me they would accept the return, provide a refund and waive the restocking fee since I was within the 30 day refund timeline. When I began to arrange return shipment, I informed Ecodesignz that I was having trouble finding a company to pick up the box (a box this size is considered "freight" and its nearly impossible to find a company who is willing to pick up freight from a residence) and that I needed help with return shipment. They were unwilling to help, and told me it was up to me to arrange shipping. I then learned that not only would Ecodesignz not help arrange shipping, but they were making me responsible for the cost of shipping. For weeks I searched for shipping that cost less then $250. I finally found a private driver willing to deliver for $90. Upon receipt of the table, Ecodesignz denied the defectiveness, claimed that there were scratches on the table, imposed a $110 fee to fix the scratches plus a restocking fee of $89 because it exceeded the 30 day return policy (despite their previous confirmation that I was within the return time frame), and topped it off with a denial of refund for the original shipping cost of $50. Despite a promise for a refund upon receipt of the table, they waited a full 2 weeks to process the refund. After I complained, they removed the restocking fee based on documentation of their previous promise.
All in all this table cost me $250 and 30 days of aggravation and I have nothing to show for it. Ecodesignz is operating a scam using furniture as their ploy to rip customers off.
