Watch out for DHWA - they are scam artists!!
|
On 5/15/12 I received a phone message from Jackson Montgomery (spoke clearly and succintly) asking that I contact DHWA regarding a 2-1/2 year old bill that was being turned over to the collection agency. I called and spoke with him - he was rude, and acted mentally disabled. He spoke very slow and deliberate and was just plain annoying. He kept me on the phone for 7 minutes just getting the correct spelling of my name. When I asked to speak to someone else he put me on hold, and I was disconnected. About 15 minutes later he called back, and spoke clearly and succintly again. He was bullying and threatening me that if I would just pay the $29 for the lightbulbs that I had ordered in Dec, 2009 he wouldn't turn me over for collections; otherwise I would also have to pay $308 in late fees, plus the attorney's fees. I asked where these light bulbs were sent and he told me the address where I am now living. Two years ago, 12/09, I wasn't even living here (no one was), yet he said he had the tracking records and could prove they were delivered here. He said they had a recording of the phone call when I ordered the light bulbs, and that this phone conversation was being recorded. I told him I hadn't ordered any light bulbs and hadn't received any statements, and he said they have documentation of all the times they had tried contacting me. Additionally, I could hear a woman in the background yelling and swearing at children. I always pay my bills, and would NEVER try to scam the disadvantaged. THIS IS A SCAM!! Beware!
