Major Scam!!
|
I spoke with a representative from Delray Supply Co. who said she was just providing a service call and wanted to verify our copy machine model number and who the contact person is for our account. I thought it odd since we are under contract with a manufacturer/vendor, but provided the number and information. The next day, "Rose Miller" called to say that the toner price had gone up since our "last order" without notifying our office. She was calling to let us know that we should have been contacted about the increase, but not to fear because they will give us 5 boxes of toner at the original price. "Rose" said she'd schedule a shipment now for the next 30 days and the remaining 4 boxes will be automatically priced at the original price. Later that morning, I had another person from Delray call to verify our order, asked for our fax number and encouraged me to sign and fax back the order confirmation ASAP. Unfortunately, it took me to getting the fax to realize this is a huge SCAM! The first call seemed odd, the second one sounded a more legit, even though Ricoh has never contacted us about ordering more toner, but the third and fax was pretty clear that they were fishing. I immediately called them back and said to take us off their list. These guys are good. They impersonate your printer/copy vendor and will make all attempts to provide you "customer service". Definitely be aware!!
